Everything you need to know about buying a moto jacket. A good leather jacket is definitely an essential item for your wardrobe for both men and women. It helps you to get a better. One of the ways we can do that is by adding modern pieces like a moto jacket. The moto jacket is one of those pieces that you can wear at any age and it will really add that freshness to your wardrobe. So how can you buy a perfect moto jacket for yourself? Let’s talk about this now.
Budget
The first thing we need to talk about when it comes to buying the perfect moto jacket is your budget. There is a huge range when it comes to buying a moto jacket. You could find one for under $100, that would be a faux leather one, a genuine leather jacket should cost $200 on up to $1,500. Personally, I prefer to buy a genuine one rather than a faux one since it is the item that I would wear a ton of times.
A good quality really makes you look different and stunning. There's a huge, huge range so you have to really think about whether or not this is something you really think is worth investing in. The moto jacket is one of those pieces where you're going to have it for years, and so it might be worth just spending a bit more, or waiting and saving and spending a bit more. You really have to determine your budget first before you can dive into the shopping process. That's going to narrow it down a lot faster for you.
Material
The second thing that you need to think about when it comes to a moto jacket is the material. So are you going to go with real leather, faux leather, vegan leather or suede. There's no wrong answer here. It's just whatever your preference is. Obviously, budget will somewhat dictate whether or not you do real leather or suede. And also, obviously, budget factors here because the faux leather versions are going to be much more economical and affordable than the real leather versions.
The advantage to leather or faux leather over suede is just that it's a bit easier to care for, but again, there's no wrong answer. It really depends on your decision, if you have a budget zone and a material that you like, then just go ahead, find your jacket which is suitable for you and buy it.
Color
The next thing you need to consider when buying a moto jacket is the color. There was at some point, probably just a couple of color options like black, maybe gray, maybe burgundy. But now, we have a bunch of color options. You have off-white, bright white, blush, beige, brown, army green, red, black, gray, you have all of these color choices.
Thinking about what color you think will incorporate seamlessly into your wardrobe and provide the most versatility. If you have a wardrobe based mostly on brown tones, you may want to consider a taupe, a beige, or brown moto jacket. If you have a wardrobe based on black tones, they can get a black moto jacket.
Black, I think, is going to be the most versatile, and the most neutral and the most wearable. Totally up to you. I would base it on what you already have in your closet. If you have a closet of neutrals like you're really into whites and creams, beiges, blushes, taupes, then, you know, maybe you go with a light gray or a blush tone, a white, an off-white, you know, one of these softer colors.
Fit
Now, it's time to talk about fit. With the fit of the jacket, you want to make sure that your shoulder seams sit pretty proper on the shoulder. This is really one of the most important points when you choose a perfectly fit leather jacket. The shoulder seam should match your shoulder. It can be slightly up or down, but can’t run more than 1.5 cm.
You also should make sure that you do some sort of arm test before you commit to buying the moto jacket and that is to put your arms out in front of you straight, and then lift them overhead like you're partying. Do you feel like, "Uh-oh, I'm not sure "I can get my arms down" or are you like, "Oh, totally fine, I can do this." So you should feel like you could do this, not like you're trapped or stuck. That's the key so you really want to make sure you get the shoulder fit right.
Many people ask whether I should zip up the jacket with a looser fit or should I buy a leather jacket that can’t zip up but fits my body closer. My point is you should find a jacket that you can zip up. This doesn’t mean that you should buy a jacket that is looser than your body.
I hardly ever zip up my jacket but I need space to add a scarf to it, to add some warmth. Getting a fitted tailored one to the body is definitely perfect but a little bit more space also won’t be wrong. You can zip it up halfway, throw a scarf on, you're good. If you are busty, an asymmetrical zip is going to be a bit better for you in terms of fit, so just something to think about there.
Length
My number five tip I want to talk about is the length and that really ties in to fit as well. What length moto jacket should you go for? I think the fail-safe length when in doubt, go with the hem line that hits where your hip and your leg meet. That’s the joint. So if you lift your leg up to the side, I know this looks super goofy, but if you lift your leg up to the side, there is a joint there. That's where I want your jacket to fall to.
Versatility
If you want maximum versatility, buy a moto that's as classic and clean as possible. What do I mean by that? Like not a lot of buttons, snaps, zippers, or maybe a leather jacket which is the hardware matches the color of the jacket so then it blends in, it feels and looks more classic and neutral, whereas something with like silver, or even like this jacket has black zippers, it's not quite as versatile.
What I recommend?
So here is one brand I want to mention here named Pala Leather. It is an online leather jacket store focusing on quality and style. 100% handmade genuine leather with beautiful delicate hardware make their leather jackets stunning. You won’t be disappointed about their high-end quality.
One special point I feel excited about is that they can embroidery your tag on the leather jacket for free. This is so much fun and I can get my personalized leather jacket without spending extra money. Pala Leather also provides custom services and plus size services which you can contact them and ask anything you want to know.
