Giving gifts isn’t as easy as it seems and here are some great tips to give great gifts.
Create an Event Surrounding the Present
When giving a friend or a loved one a present, you want it to be special and one of the best ways to do that is being creative with the packaging. Instead of handing over the gift with conventional wrapping paper, consider making the gifting experience and event to ensure they enjoy it.
\Hide the gift and send them on a scavenger hunt. Instead of giving them a gift card, consider hiding a secret message in a Twilight book that sends them to the code of the gift card.
Or perhaps consider sewing the present in a huge stuffed animal so that they have to perform surgery on it to find the gift. You should never underestimate the fun that comes with unwrapping gifts. Sometimes, quantity is quality, especially when it is a bunch of small individually wrapped presents.
Give a Literal Experience
So, he loves Harry Potter and already has the books, Blu-Ray disc and other items relating to the franchise. Well, why not get them tickets to the show (any of their favourite)?
One of the best gifts I have come across is a step by step mystery guide that sent the giftee to a restaurant, bought them dinner and paid for them to have some good time at the arcade.
Look at The Past
Perhaps someone on your list recently finished university and you could frame their degree for display. One of our participants got a painting of their pett had passed away a year before.
Another participant had sold their Nintendo and got another one as a gift. This is a great way of reminding a person of their childhood. Looking to the past shows that you really know and care about the person and takes them down a memory lane that they can't help but appreciate, thanks to the touching gifts.
Make a List of Things They are Interested or Define Them
This is a list that you'll want to make long. Spend some time writing down as many things as possible regarding what your giftee may like. Make sure to purchase age appropriate gifts – for example read these gift ideas for 2 year olds to get an idea of what someone that age would wan Next, think of something to go with each item on that list, be it big or small.
You do not have to gift them all the items on the list, but you will come across some great ideas that you wouldn't have otherwise. Also, when you combine several of them, the giftee will certainly appreciate your effort to be thoughtful and personal.
One of our participants who was experiencing depression, interested in male fashion and likes sci-fi received a potentially life-changing present that was clearly tailored for him. A bacon lover recieved a year-long gourmet bacon-of-the-month subscription. Now that is a gift that I would certainly appreciate.
Last but not least, think of what the person needs. Everyone needs something in their lives and gifting them that particular item shows just how caring you are. There are numerous products out there that can make a person lead their life in a more efficient manner.
