Facial Dark Spot Remover & Other Ways to Tackle the Issue

If you’ve spent a little too much time out in the sun, then you’re likely going to have some dark spots on your face to show for it. Known in the industry as hyperpigmentation, it’s most associated with UV ray exposure, but a facial dark spot remover isn’t always needed because of the sun.

Other factors like being pregnant, having a hormonal imbalance, taking prescription drugs, age and acne can also result in these dark spots on your face. Whatever the cause, it’s excess melanin that causes the darkness, but the good news here is that there are things you can do about it - it is reversible.

In this article, we look at a few different types of treatment, some of which can even be created with things you’ll find in your kitchen. Just remember, before you try any of them yourself, to conduct a patch test to check your sensitivity to whatever it is you’re going to use.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar

The first of our facial dark spot remover choices is a natural one - apple cider vinegar, which should be poured into a bowl in a 1:1 ratio. Once it’s properly mixed, apply it to your dark spots and then rinse it off your face with some lukewarm water.

If you don’t happen to have cider vinegar in your kitchen, don’t worry, as you can use table vinegar with ½ a tablespoon of orange juice. Then complete the job by applying a serum and moisturizer.

  • Buttermilk

Another simple and cost-effective way to help reduce dark spots on your face is to apply buttermilk and leave in place for up to 20 minutes. After the allotted time, again rinse it off with some lukewarm water and finish up with serum and moisturizer.

If you suffer with either acne or oily skin, add a little lime or lemon juice to the mixture before applying.

  • Horseradish Paste

Another facial dark spot remover option straight from left field is to use horseradish paste and leave it in place for at least 15 minutes. This is something that you need to repeat 2-3 times every week to see those dark spots begin to fade.

It’s something we’d recommend doing whilst your family’s out or you might get a few funny looks!

For Better Results - Trust in the Experts

Ok, so these are options you can use if you’re stuck for other choices, but if you really want to kiss goodbye to those facial marks, it’s a great idea to invest in some quality skin care products that have been designed precisely to treat the issue.

For example, Perfec-Tone offers a fantastic facial dark spot remover that has a fortified formula that’s simply packed with dark spot-fighting ingredients. All you need to apply is a pea-sized drop onto your finger and place over the area at night.

The great thing about this particular option is that it’s suitable for use, even for those with sensitive skin issues like acne. The household product options we mentioned are worth a try, but if you’re serious about it, we’d try proven products that have been created by experts.

Whatever you use for yours - we hope you get the results you’re looking for.
