How to Look Cute for a Gym Workout Without Trying Too Hard

Fitness girlies usually go to the gym to look cute outside of the gym, right? Some gym goers never put much thought into their appearance during a workout. Others believe that fashion and fitness don’t need to be mutually exclusive, and want to make looking good a regular part of their working up to a good workout.

Regardless of where you fall on this spectrum, here are a few helpful tips and tricks that are easy to follow and leave you looking and feeling cuter for your next gym workout, without having to try too hard!

1. Practice Good Hygiene

This one is super basic, but showering and brushing your hair doesn’t have to be for the post-workout only. Of course, rinsing off in the shower after working up a sweat is never a bad idea, but if you have time to shampoo and condition your hair beforehand, you’ll likely start your workout looking and feeling a little fresher and cuter than you would otherwise.

And if the smell of your own body odor or body hair leaves you feeling self-conscious, wearing deodorant and shaving beforehand is an obvious must.

2. Style Your Hair in a Fitness-Friendly Fashion

If your hair is long enough to tie out of the way while you work out, it may also be long enough to braid or put in a messy bun. Ponytails are a classic workout hairstyle, but even a classic style can be spruced up a bit with an elastic headband designed for working out or a colorful hair tie There are dozens of ways you can style your hair for a workout just by mixing and matching different styles of braiding, buns, topknots, and ponies.

The trick is to find a hairstyle that stays secure during exercise, is easy to fix or undo, and avoids interfering with your focus by keeping your hair out of your face.

3. Pick Out Some Cute Workout Clothes

A cute workout outfit should be a cross between clothes that are comfortable to wear and cute to look at. The perfect outfit for one person could be a baggy t-shirt and shorts, while another may enjoy brightly colored leggings and crop-tops.

As long as it meets the requirements of “cute” and "comfortable", there’s really no wrong choice – though we do recommend picking your outfit out ahead of time, and replacing clothes that are old and worn out as needed. A few cute accessories, like a pretty water bottle or an interesting gym bag, can help provide the finishing touches you didn’t realize your workout outfit needed.

4. Find a Gym Where You’re Surrounded by Like-Minded People

Our appearance is not entirely physical. The way we’re perceived or even think we’re perceived by others also plays an important role in how cute we feel. One of the easiest ways to look and feel your best during a workout is as simple as finding a gym where you can be surrounded by like-minded people who share similar goals.

Looking cute for a gym workout isn’t a necessity, but if it’s important to you, don’t feel bad about making it a priority. Use the ideas above to look cute for a gym workout without trying too hard.
